Can’t text $15.00 plan

Purchased your sim.  Phone is unlocked.  Data and cell # works. Won’t send or receive texts.  iPhone 6s

Go to Settings:

1.Back up your phone

2.Sign out of your iCloud

3.Go to Messages turn that off.

4.Go to Settings -> General -> Reset (I would recommend Erase all)

5.Restart everything.

6.Try again, if everything is well restore your iPhone.

iMessage may be the culprit. Try to reactivate imessage but disabling it and then re-enabling it again. Also try diabling wifi and see if you can send a txt...make sure you try to send as SMS vs. imessage.

If that doesn't work, you can try to reset network settings.

Keep in mind that after doing this, you will have to enter Wi-Fi passwords again, as this resets Wi-Fi settings, as well as VPN, APN and cellular settings.

• Go to Settings
• Tap General
• Next, tap Reset
• Tap Reset network settings
• Enter your passcode (if you are using one), and then tap Reset network settings.

Try toggling iMessage?

• Go to Settings
• Tap Messages
• Next, turn off iMessage
• Wait for a couple of seconds and turn it back on.

Maybe set the texting app to use SMS.
