I just noticed today that I can't send or recieve MMS for the past week or so....? Has something g changed?

I just thought I would mention I got a call from a private number today that I let go to voicemail. To my surprise the message was from Public Mobile tech support. They left a phone # for me to call back for support. I will be keeping that # just in case I need it in future!

Woohoo! I did it!!! Troubleshooting with customer support and reprovisioning didn't work. While they were opening a ticket with the tech team I decided to try one more thing that my friend suggested. I took out my sim card put it in their phone. I sent an MMS and had one sent to me. Took the sim card out and put it back in my phone. Rebooted. Sent and recieved MMS. WOOHOO!!!!
Edit to post: Forgot to mention I also updated my APN type to theirs and when I saved it I didn't notice autocorrect had capitalized mms. So for anyone else in this situation if it helps...
APN type: default,MMS,agps,supl,fota,hipri

I reset to default and that didn't work either. I'll contact customer support. Thanks.

then try to just update the entry as the long one I posted above
and check if PM support if that still does not work

I couldn't delete the APN only add a new one which didn't work. It does say "reset to default". Do I do that first?

APN settings actually stored in the phone's ROM
PM had retired the old MMS settings and only using the new one. Of course phones from years ago only have the older settings. Some phone, like OnePlus, might retrieve the APN settings from its own ROM after major OS update. That's why a manual update, or manual delete-recreate APN profile, is needed.
But if what I suggested earlier still does not help, please open ticket with PM support and ask them to reprovision your sim/account on the system.
Please open ticket with PM support:

Any reason why this would suddenly change (stop working) out of the blue?
Phone is an Alcatel smartphone. Model#5002W

Nope that didn't work either. Guess I will try changing the APN.

do you have a OnePlus phone?
If reinstalling Google Message does not solve the problem, no matter what phone you have, try this:
With some phone, there might be a bit more work than simply updating the APN as what suggested in the beginning.
Many confirmed that you need to delete the current APN profile first. Then Add new profile and add according to this, please note case-sensitive and do not add extra spaces. Remember to save the new APN and then reboot the phone before you try

I can't uninstall the app only force stop it. I can uninstall all of the updates?
05-05-2025 09:01 PM
I have done a reset of my settings. I'll try uninstalling the app.

what phone do you have?
try Reset network settings. And if you have an Android, uninstall Google Message and reinstall after a reboot
