Can't recieve MMS, but have plenty of data.. I think?

I am unable to receive MMS, I've been searching the forum but the stuff I'm reading is.. conflicting.  When I login to the public mobile website and look at my account, it says I have 250MB at 3G speeds, but after about 2 weeks it says that is used up and I have 0MB left. But, I have 5GB data add-on with plenty available.. Why does MMS use the "250 MB at 3G speeds" but not the 5GB of data add-on I have?

Can someone please confirm:  no matter how much additional data I purchase, I'm always going to be limited to the 250MB for receiving/sending MMS, because MMS only uses data from the base subscription, and not the data add-ons.. is that correct?

Glad it worked!

Thanks Softech.  It looks like just updating the proxy and port worked in my case, so far.  If it fails again I'll delete and re-enter as you have it listed.  Thanks for your help on this. 🙂

After changing the MMS proxy and port, I went into my messages and clicked the little arrow to download (previously, this would just spin and spin, and nothing would download) and immediately the messages downloaded and displayed, and no reboot was needed.

Thank you so much Sansan 🙂

@Spicetech

With OnePlus, there might be a bit more work than simply updating.  Many confirmed that you need to delete the current APN profile first.  Then Add new profile and add according to this, please note case-sensitive and do not add extra spaces.  Remember to save the new APN and then reboot the phone before you try

APN: sp.mb.com
(or try all upper case SP.MB.COM)
Proxy:
Port:
Username: <blank>
Password: <blank>

MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mb/mmsc
MMS Proxy: mmscproxy.mobility.ca

MNC: 220
Authentication Type: Not Set
APN Type: default,supl,mms

APN roaming protocol: IPv4
APN enable/disable: APN enabled

It's a OnePlus 12R.  Mobile data is turned on.  MMS starts to fail every month as soon as that 250MB is used up, this is what is confusing me.  I'm trying the settings Sansan suggested above, and will look for the option to reset all networks if that doesn't help.  Thank you. 🙂

Thank you for the quick response 🙂  I have a OnePlus 12R.  Mobile data is turned on.  APN settings are slightly different than what you have:

APN: SP.MB.COM
MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mb/mmsc
MMS proxy: 74.49.0.18
MMS Port: 80
MMC: 302
MNC: 220
APN Type: default,mms,agps,supl,fota,hipri

Instead of the fqdn for proxy I just have an IP, and the port is different.  I'll change to what you have listed and see if it makes a difference.  Should I reboot my phone after, or should it take effect right away?

@Spicetech  what type of phone do you have? Is your data turned on? You have to be connected in or for it to download.

Once you have available data,  mms will work regardless from what packages you have.

Check your apn setting. You can compare to below. If it's different, I would recommend deleting and adding those below. Then restart your phone.

APN: SP.MB.COM

MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mb/mmsc

MMSC proxy: mmscproxy.mobility.ca

MMS port: 8799

MCC: 302

MNC: 220

APN Type: default,supl,mms

                             or default,mms,agps,supl,fota,hipri

@Spicetech MMS need mobile data turnws in but does not consume your data (ie, you can use it even you have no data left)

Your issue is just a phone setup problem.

What model of phone you have??

Start with Reset All Networks and see if it helps
