Can't make or receive phone calls

My phone "seems to work just fine.  I live in an area where I almost dead zone, so it's not unusual to not to be able to phone out and my text works fine.  However when I go to town where my phone should be just fine, I'm still not able to use call out or receive phone calls.  I can't get my phone messages either.  Text still works fine.

You may be in an area with ONLY LTE service, and no 3G service. In these areas, data, SMS, MMS will work, but not phone calls, which require the 3G aka HSPA or WCDMA network with Public Mobile.

I've heard of some new towers in Newfoundland and Southern Ontario where new towers are going up with LTE service only...  One such area I recall was White River Ontario.

You can confirm this by manually setting your phone to disable LTE, and set 3G only - aka HSPA or WCDMA - if your phone then indicates NO SERVICE, then indeed there is no 3G signal at all in that area, and you would have to consider switching to a different provider that supports VoLTE like Koodo... (and possibly your phone -- depending if your phone supports it)

@Jessesmom

check at  Canadian Cellular Towers Map

and see how many towers for Telus or Bell in your area,, maybe it's not enough towers.i think contact to Telus to request to that area be added new towers.

did you tried to manually select the network to 3G and rebooting device.maybe it's will help.

@Jessesmom

Did you recently ported your old number over to PM?

If so, did you reply to the text with the old SIM in the phone confirming you are porting over? Note that there a 90 minute window for you to reply. If you missed the window then you need to contact a CS_Agent.

If you picked a new number then you need to reboot your phone by holding down the power button then power off and power back on.

@Jessesmom what have you tried?

How about, try:

*manually select the 3G / WCDMA ONLY network in your Mobile Connections area in your settings (temporarily) for dropping or unable to make incoming/outgoing calls

*turn off your phone, then reboot

*removing your SIM, then reinserting it

*go into airplane mode, then going back to regular mode

*perform a reset network settings on your device

*try your SIM card into another compatible phone...this could rule out a device issue/setting.
