Can't install public mobile app

I can't install the public mobile app on my Samsung SM-G532M. Is there anything else I can do to activate my SIM card?

you need Android 8 and above to install PM app but your phone Samsung J2 prime cannot be upgraded to Android 8. Your phone is a bit old and it is not uncommon that your phone is incompatible with  many current apps 

You will need help from a friend to download the app and activate for you. Once activated, your friend can uninstall the app and you can access everything using PM website
