Call forwarding to public mobile number not working

chrishkeepitdir

Hello,

I set up a toll free number from Voip.ms and forwarded it to my phone. The calls won't go through saying something like: to UV1 all circuits are busy please try your call again later.

Forwarded calls to other numbers are working it's just this one that is messed up. I can also use Zoiper to make calls from my toll free number so I am confident it's just my public mobile number.

I was back on with VOIP.ms and all i had to do is change the ring time from 30 to 60 and it worked.

Thank you for your help

In the voip.ms portal:

  1. Main Menu,
  2. Account Restrictions Tab
  3. Allow International Calls
  4. Change from "No - International calls disabled" to "Yes - International calls enabled"

Also, in subaccounts:

  1. Manage sub accounts
  2. Under actions - click edit sub-account
  3. Allow International Calls - set to Yes, and refine to specific countries if desired.

Does anyone have a test 672 number I can call? I'd like to test and confirm if this is actually still an issue with voip.ms - if it is, their support staff should be made aware so that dialing to 672 can be fixed and not classified as "international"... Hopefully it doesn't bill as if you're calling norfolk island (Country code 672)

@rps  can you provide more details?

this is an old thread actually, maybe start a new one of your own and let us know what is the issue ?

you mentioned " allow international calls?"  you have a problem with Long Distance calling? where you are trying to call?

Do you know how to successfully forward the calls to my 672 number?

My understanding is ring groups are for when you want multiple phones to ring at once but I just want my one to work.

Do your voip services have caller id for inbound calls with their guess as to where it's coming from? iirc some have experienced some recipients seeing the number saying it's from the states. If voip.ms does not forward to a US number, that might be the problem if it thinks the 672 is from the US. Maybe.

I just did a quick check and it does not appear that voip.ms offers 672 yet. BUT Iristel does and that is the back bone, from what I hear, for voip.ms. Never themes they should be on it it for being able to communicate with a 672 number

Voip.ms only has caller id for the number only. And for inbound calls you will only see a number. You have to build a contact list on voip.ms to see a name in your caller ID. The only problems we have is with Anonymous numbers from Shaw. We only have 2 that show up that way. BUT if you had a lot...you can program voip.ms to not accept ANY anonymous calls along with some others....I would have to look at the settings on voip.ms. So far I won't take that option.

I would think voip.ms will forward to any number....you pay for it!!! As long as your calling countries are set up. I do believe the base set up is for mainland USA and Canada.

I changed my restrictions to allow outgoing international calls and it works.

I set up everything and now get a busy signal when I place a test call

I suggest you do the following.  You can leave it as is with no harm or delete it all. But, please just try it. It won't just miraculously work....it has to be programmed on the voip.ms web site that  holds your 855 number.

1. First you have to make a Sub Account for the 672 number.

2. Then you have to make a RING Group

3. Then you have to set up Call Forwarding

If I forward the toll free number to another PM number in my house (778 area code) it works but not to my new 672 area code number.

I am only set up on voip.ms and do not know what a "No ATA box" is.

my calls for my 855 number work using Zoiper

Is that done?

Zoiper is a soft phone and works off of wifi or data. (no ATA box required)

ATA box is for home phone. It attaches directly to your internet router. And then your home phone set attaches to it.  I will explain later if you want to know more about that.

Not sure, but I went through their support and they didn't say anything. after troubleshooting a few issues they said the issue is on the PM side

What are the forwarding rules for voip.ms? The 672 area code is new-ish and so their system might not be recognizing it yet. Maybe.

I too have voip.ms. I have our land line number (voip.ms) forward to both my iPhone and my wife's. So when we get a call to our land line both our iPhones ring along with the home phone through the ATA box. I had to do 3 set ups to make it all work.

So just to be clear you have an 800 number with voip.ms and you want those calls to forward to your PM mobile phone?

You are only set up on voip.ms....and NO ATA box?

And your calls for your 800 number do work on Zoiper?

Let me know and I can help.

@chrishkeepitdir on your pm sim dial ##21# and then ##004# to reset your call forwarding. then dial '1' to see if you can access your voicemail

Yeah, I edited the call forwarding number for voicemail manually and it works now. I set up two other phones with public mobile and my voicemail numbers updated automatically so I was just suggesting maybe something didn't set up properly and that it was a related issue.

I resolved that, now my issue is that forwarding from my toll free number doesn't work

 @chrishkeepitdir

Isn't it press and hold 1?

Check your forwarding options in your dialer on the phone. By default they should go to a number ending in 4001 (mostly).
