Buying add-on's with autopay

I use autopay on my account which works well. I wonder if this also works for add-ons. If I buy an add-on do I have to put money in the account first to cover the cost, or will it automatically be taken off the credit card? Thanks.

@bartinbc   Autopay just debits your CC/Debit card for the renewal cycle, but if you want add-ons then you can log into your account and click on Purchase Add-ons (halfway down the overview page) and use the registered card to first add funds and then purchase the applicable add-on.

Autopay is only used for needed monies at renewal.
