Buy subscription before receiving physical sim

Hello,

I want to take advantage of current offer before it expires, but don’t yet have a SIM and prefer physical. Amazon would not deliver sim until Dec 17 and community seems to recommend buying instore or from Amazon rather than buying directly from Public. So, do I buy subscription now and indicate I have a sim card — and then wait to finish process later?  Also, want to port old number from Koodo (postpaid) -do I wait for new sim? Not tech savvy, so thanks for assistance.

Thanks all. I will see if local store has a card. If not, I will order one from Public and hope it gets here before Amazon’s Dec 17.  I will then activate the card and hopefully transfer the number from Koodo then.  Thanks for the help.

@hTideGnow  Th and missed that part and don’t blame OP I prefer physical sim too , but eSIM can be instant activation with no need to wait or fight the busy stores and traffic lol

@Cookie22  another option if your phone is eSIM compatible you can choose eSIM on signs up using the public mobile app and activate right away and not have to wait at all for physical SIM card to arrive and a avoid  going to the stores.

HI @Cookie22

if you like ,you can buy the Public Mobile sim from Telus or Koodo or Mobile Klink store in person.  Just find the stores here first and call them to confirm if they have the PM sim card in stock

@Cookie22  You can subscribe now and order a sim and activate it when you get it - apparently Public Mobile has a back-up plan for the Canada Post strike (many complaints on here are because the shipping can take several days to a few weeks via the normal method).  If you're anywhere near a Telus/Koodo corporate store you can get a physical sim there.  You will need to have your Public Mobile account activated before porting your number or you won't have a working phone, once you port your number your previous provider closes the account.
