And no need to Airplane mode. PM already knows your IMEI for the new phone. Just the accounting system not updated yet, and Airplane mode would not help. Better to open ticket
Not sure why you feel the need to disrespect me and my posts @slusagm and advising customers to ignore my advise. It's rude and disrespectful and a violation of the terms of service here! It's a known fact that even PM themselves suggest putting your phone into airplane mode will help reconnect your SIM card and phone to the network. A reset like affect. And no, they may be working off an old IMEI number if the SIM card/Phone haven't updated the system. We've seen that time and time again here on the forums that you should know this by now. People with brand new phones like the iPhone 17 are still being charged the $5 fee.

But ask PM to check and update it in the system for you and reverse the $5

Actually, no, this is incorrect. A simple 5 minutes in airplane mode, turning off the phone for 5 minutes and turning it back on and turning off airplane mode, reconnects the SIM card and sends what phone is being used specs to Public Mobile right away. Therefore it will be resolve immediately so the fee will not show up on the next 30 day cycle.
Also, there is no need to contact customers service. They will not reverse the fee. The fee is there for a reason! This fee covers the legacy 3G network and to offset maintenance costs to keep this running.

Hello @Gyje6551
Please note when you say "you". This community is run by it's customers. We all all customers here. Nobody from Public Mobile here.
This $5 fee is the 3G fee. Which basically means your current phone is incompatible with the PM network and if you wish to continue using this phone, there is a $5 fee. This is basically forcing you to upgrade your phone to something on the approved list. Like Samsung, Motorola or iPhone.
Which phone are you currently using?

Most likely +$5 as you have incompatible phone. You need VoLTE PM approved phone.
