The badges are little milestones of your activity here.

1, 5, 10 bravos earned
1, 10, 25 bravos given
1, 2, 3 accepted solutions
1, 10, 25 replies
1, 3, 5 topics started
Then all the reward badges. The reward badges have to do with the level of reward you got each month.

Welcome to community. Getting a badge does NOT mean much.  The more you participate on the forum, the more badges you get.  But, it does offer any financial incentive, etc.  For some people, it motivates them to participate more.
