You have to contact your old provider and they will transfer your number. That's what I did and they had no problem doing it.

I had the $34 plan for years and it was just fine. I only changed because I went to the US on holidays and wanted to be able to talk to family home.

I just changed my account to US/ Canada wide. Used my same Sim card

Try turning your phone off for a little while. Turn back on and hopefully it will work again.
