Bad voice quality using eSIM → would switching to a physical SIM help?

I find the voice quality for phone calls on Public Mobile is noticeably WORSE than it was on Rogers.

I have a Google Pixel 7 Pro.  I was using a physical SIM with Rogers but changed to an eSIM for Public Mobile.

Would switching to a physical SIM for Public Mobile improve the voice quality of my phone calls?

Thank you for that very useful hack.
My phone was already set to us VoLTE but it's nice to know how to see that.

Changing Public Mobile SIM cards will have no effect on voice quality.

@d0r1n , the best voice quality is obtained by a VoLTE call, don't force the phone into 3G mode.  Make sure the phone is set to 5G preferred for connection type.  From the phone dialer, dial *#*#4636#*#* to bring up a hidden menu.  Click on the 3 dots on the upper right corner, select IMS service status and confirm VoLTE is enabled.

@d0r1n   Set the phone to 3G and test it, or if it is already on 3G then set to 4G/LTE and test that, see if there is any difference.

You can try rebooting your phone by powering off then back on.
Also, reset the Network on Google 7 Pro but you will need to re-enter the home wifi password.

I would always use a physical SIM just for the simplicity of swapping from phone to phone.  Pop it out of one phone and into another.  Can't do that with an eSIM.

As for call quality, I am not sure if that's an eSIM or PM issue
