E-Sim , switch to physical sim

My current phone is using an e-sim.  It broke / non functional.  I have an older backup phone I want to use that doesn't support e-sim.  Do I have to order the sim card through my account and my number will be transferred to the new sim?

hi @snug

sorry, no, you need to use Public Mobile Sim, Koodo won't work:

please still check VoLTE, the phone could be new, but it might not be compatible with PM still

I believe I have a Koodo sim sitting in a drawer that has never been activated.  Can I use that with PM?

Thanks.  phone is older but not that old so the VoLTE should not be an issue.  I may just wait until repair is done for the current phone.

hi @snug

yes, you need to buy new sim card.  Buy a new Public Mobile sim card form Telus or Koodo or Mobile Klink or Amazon.

After you have the new PM sim card, login My Account and go to Profile page to update the sim card number

if you cannot login because you cannot get the 2FA code, ask PM agent to update it for you

you can submit ticket by direct message:

You have to purchase physical SIM either from a retail store or order from PM.
Receiving it from PM might take a (long) while to receive and some people never get it at all.

If you plan to use older phone be aware that if it is Not compatible with VoLTE you might be charged $5/30 days and phone will stop working after March 2027
