I was charged for something called “automatic top up” but I’m so confused what that is because I never made that purchase

It's handy to just leave it Subscribed... then you don't have to remember to pay every 30 days. It just happens without worrying about it.

using the app, log in to your account > Subscription...click on Manage Subscription...then click on Subscription Renewal...then UNSUBSCRIBE......BUT , you'll have to pay manually for next renewal.

@Makela just login My Account, Subscription page and click Manage Subscriptions and you can disable the "Subscribed" button there

when you activated your new Public Mobile account, you provided a credit/debit card and it was set to Subscribed (Autopay for regular plan renewal)...you can disable if you want but you'll have to manually pay at renewal time.
