Does anyone know why there is an account number associated with a public mobile prepaid service? I noticed this on my PM profile. It's not like you can add it to your online banking?

You have a Public Mobile account.  You are charged and pay for the service.  Therefore, you need an account for these transactions.

@jjordon21   account number is for PM to keep track of the account 🙂

It is useful if you ever need to port out your phone number to another provider.  While you can also use IMEI for porting information , account number is a more reliable way.

And yes, there is no option to pay PM service with your the bank account.  Only credit card/visa debit setup on My Account, voucher load up or store instant pay are allowed

The only time I can think of needing it is to port out.

@jjordon21  It’s just the number for your account for records , and you also need it should you ever decide to port your number out of public mobile to a different provider one day
