Able to send text but not able to receive. Phone call in/out is fine. 2G/3G/4G only Android phone

I have been seeing this text problem for the last 12 months. It was never a problem in the past 6 years. My phone hasn't changed. I can send text instantly and to be received by others, but I cannot get any incoming text message including any 2FA verification text (this is the biggest problem). I have requested PM agent help, after some troubleshoot on PM side, it seems to be working for a while, then the able to receive text problem happens again. I have done power on/off, reset all network, but it doesn't help. The text could magically work when I go back to home, basically all the messages arrive at the same time shows same timestamp, even these were sent to me days ago, then it will work well until this problem happens again. I guess it is probably a long shutdown (>5mins) can help, but I cannot tell for sure, because that cannot guarantee the fix. Maybe power down over night help when my battery is totally drained.

I hope there is some self debugging method to allow me check if PM has pushed all the messages successfully to my phone, but I can see the usage history showing all the texts are sent out to me, but my phone hasn't received them all. Maybe there is a text received by phone log to find out what is missing?

I assume this simple text has nothing to do with APN settings, since there are so many fields to be filled up, but I have no idea what's the correct value or what value could help.

BTW I have unlimited text, so I don't think that's my plan issue.

It is weird to have text only working in sending but not receiving. There is no setting in Android allows a configuration like that. There must be something deep between the phone and the PM message server doing something behind the scene could cause this one-way communication. I will try to leave the phone off for long period of the time and power it on again and see if that can help.

hi @NotABot

your setup wsa not correct and hence something not working

try to disable the other sim first, Reset All Networks and test.  Make sure the PM sim is fully functioning first before you re-enable the other sim

Yes, mobile data works on PM. I do have dual sim and both are enabled, but only the PM provides call and text as configured in Android. I can choose data from either sim.

hi @NotABot

and mobile data works?

My phone is oneplus 6 purchased new 2019. It doesn't support eSIM since mine only supports 4G. I would wish to test my sim in another phone, but I don't have another phone can use nano-sim. I believe to see if this sim works on another phone will tell if I have phone configuration problems, but this test method is not available for me.

hi @NotABot check if Public Mobile sim or esim is the only sim showing on Sim Manager.  if you still have the old one, remove it or disable all the old eSIM

Reset network settings and try

and if you have physical sim, test it on another phone
