5G vs LTE in Rural Manitoba

We take our weekends with our RV outside Winnipeg (actually outside Beausejour MB). Will I have better streaming performance with LTE or 5G?

To be honest, there isn't anything wrong with both of them. One is up to 100mbps and the other is up to 250mbps. It depends on the exact location you'll be vs any interference in the area.  In my opinion, it's all about trial and error. And really, HD 1080p streaming only needs 5-10mbps to stream. 4K is about 25-30mbps to stream.

Nobody could really answer the question as it depends on network conditions and network capacity at the exact location and time that the service is being used. I would suggest leaving your phone's 5G automatic network selection enabled and to let your phone decide which network to use.  You can always change the setting later on if desired.

Hi @Trainwrecks

Winnipeg and Beausejour have 5G coverage, so if you can get a good deal I recommend you get 5G since it will have faster speeds. However, if not possible, LTE is still a good option. Keep in mind that only some parts around Winnipeg have 5G coverage so if you roam around the province a lot, it is likely that many times you will not receive 5G. Have a nice day
