You wont need 5G for your phone to work with pm. You would only want it to work if you swifched to telus and their $95/25GB+25GB bonus "unlimited" 5G services plan.
Rogers announced on June 15th that mid range 5G service was rolled out to Naniamo followed by bell announcing that their 5G service in Toronto and telus announced yesterday.....
"Telus has announced the deployment of 3500MHz spectrum that will allow “customers in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Edmonton and Victoria [to] enjoy an enhanced 5G experience.”
Rogers double downed on the same day (June 17th) announcing they were also live in those cities and a few other smaller markets.

Doubt they will ever do 5G although they will have to do something to update their infrastructure to at least keep functional.

Hi @BKNS27 yes, at the moment 5G is more a eye catching terms to help to sell new phones more than being practical. LoL

I know there are different frequencies on 5G and the battery drain maybe a software issue on different phones.
Funny how the commercials have all the actors outside while using 5G. 😂

Hi @BKNS27 the indoor/outdoor issue would get fixed
thr power drain issue is device design, depends on the male and model

5G isn’t what it is advertised to be. It drains the phone battery, you can only use it outdoors and test has proven that the speeds are slower than 4G.

Bell and Telus don't have 5G coverage in your area anyway. Rogers has some small areas with 5G.

@JS56 Hello depending on where the 5G towers are in your area you may not get any better coverage plus your new iPhone will work on the 3G/LTE network we have here You can try switching your phone you have now to 3G in your settings that should clear up any phone call issues you may have

Any phone that can do 3G/UMTS/WCDMA/HSPA and 4G/LTE can work here (assuming correct bands and frequencies of those). You don't need 5G. Newer phones include that more for marketing but they'll still work on the previous cellular networks...like your proposed new iphone.
For finicky, perhaps your phone has issues. Do you know of others on other providers that have any more solid service?

Hi @JS56 No 5G here yet. Likely won't have 5G anytime soon
But even with 5G, it might or might not help, really depends on how they setup the 5G towers. 5G will certainly help the speed but hard to tell with the coverage
With your connection issue, try to connect to 3G only and see if it helps

PM does not provide 5G as of yet. Why would you need 5G right now?
