My partner and I have both use Public Mobile and are getting "5B1" on a number we need to call. It won't connect either of us to this number. The number is for BC Ferries and is definitely valid. Please help!

@dust2dustYes, I am in Vancouver. I don't actually know whether or not I hide my number. Friends and family who have my phone number see that it's me when I'm calling, so maybe I am not hiding my number.

@GraemeBrown- Are you in BC? Do you hide your number? Or you let your number be seen?

I'm in BC. With either hidden or not I can connect. I did have a problem calling a toll free elsewhere and got a different error. Turned out to be that it didn't like that my number was hidden (which I usually have set).

"Welcome aboard, thank you for calling BC Ferry.."

@GraemeBrown   it actually works for me

@Annie13   did you open a ticket  a ticket  with PM Support?  did they solve the issue for your account?

I'm having the same issue with the same phone number (1-888-BC-FERRY), on both my phone and my partner's (both are Public Mobile). I've opened a ticket and am awaiting a response. Will update here if I have any resolution.

@Annie13   if it is just a business number, do you mind to share it so maybe we can try?

Hello! Thanks for your help. Yes, other numbers work. I did add the "1" with the 10-digit number and it still didn't work unfortunately. Thanks for the information regarding CSA contact info.

Thanks for the question! It's a business number. It's not a problem on the other end as we've just borrowed a friend's phone that uses Bell and that works to connect to the number.

What is "5B1"? Can't find it on Google.

Hi @hycm53   it is just some internal Telus code

Hi @Annie13 is this a private or business number? Not sure if it is a problem on the other end since both phones can't call

Does calling work fine with other numbers?

Can you try adding "1" then the 10 digit number to see if it makes a difference?

If not, let the CSA's know about the issue.   But first, try rebooting devices and resetting network connections and try the call again...
