I signed up for 4G plan but I'm only getting 3G coverage. Anyone know why this might be? Possible my location?

@Dexgoulding , the marketing terminology on the 3G/4G/5G speed plans refers to the traffic shaping on the data and has nothing to do with access to the 3G/4G/5G network.  Generally the network is essentially fully 4G enabled and 5G is nearing 100% mark particularly in and around major urban centers.  If you are unable to establish a 4G connection, it might be due to phone settings as already mention of age of phone where 4G bands are potentially limited.  In rural settings, coverage might explain the connectivity.  Use this cell tower map to assess local cell coverage.

HI @Dexgoulding

when you said you are only getting 3G coverage, you meant your phone only showing 3G on top ?  it might be network mode.  Go to Network mode screen, change the network to 4G or LTE and test

look in settings to see if you can select 4G or LTE, as well as 3G.

eg: in my iPhone / Settings / Cellular / Cellular Data Options / Roaming ON / Voice & Data / 4G and Volte enabled too.
