3g price increase

I just got a text that I'm getting a price increase because of my device being 3g. It is  samsung galaxy a56 ..clearly a 5g cell. What gives?

Just to be clear 5G is the speed of your data and has nothing to do with VoLTE making or receiving calls. PM has a whitelist of phones that are VoLTE compatible.

No matter how old or new your phone or from which company you bought it if it is NOT compatible with PM network – check VoLTE compatibility on PM site – then that phone will NOT work with PM services.

ALWAYS check PM database with your phone’s IMEI – current phone or prospective purchase.

A56 should be compatible with PM VoLTE network.  You can use the  IMEI checker on this page to confirm:  https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/on/get-help/articles/volte 

If it shows compatible, you won't be charged $5 extra.  Just report the result WITH PM CS agent 

  Please open ticket with PM support:

1. Open ticket via Chatbot (need access to My Account): At https://widget.telus.tiia.ai/publicmobile/publicmobile.html
    Start by typing "Ticket", click "Contact Us"  then choose a topic, click "Login", finally click "Click here to submit a ticket ↗
    (if unable to receive 2FA via SMS when login, click "Didn't Receive code" or "Resend Code")
     then choose "
Send email" or "Send Voice Message" to get 2FA via email or voicemail)

**Monitor your Community inbox (envelope icon on the top right) after ticket submitted, CS Agent will reply to you there
