We use a seniors flip phone (Jethro SC330).

I assume that I will have to buy an updated flip phone and they all seem to use a small nano sim card.

How do I order a nano card for my new phone and if I order one will my existing Jethro phone be out of service until Canada Post gets the new one to me?

this one wont work as PM has a tight VoLTE whitelist and this one is not on it
You likely need to buy a ZTE Cymbal 2.  Although there was a particular member here said it does not work, but others confirmed it is working.  Just make sure you get the ZTE Cymbal 2 from Canada, better from Telus or Koodo store

Thank you, no I'm in Ontario.

This is the flip phone I was looking at.

Even a basic smart phone would be out of the question

My partner can flip open the phone and press the memory button with the programmed landline number but anything beyond the simplest of steps would be overwhelming.

Thank you, I'm in Ontario and it looks like I have  few months to sort it out.

Thank you, I wasn't aware that the sim could be downsized

@bazzarichie

The PM SIM comes in 3 sizes. You just have to pop out the spacer from standard-micro-nano so the old SIM will work on newer phones.

@bazzarichie Sim cards come with punch outs, so one card will fit 3 different sizes. For nano take off all the punch outs. Your current phone won't stop working because you order a new sim (assuming not in Manitoba and phone still works?). When the time comes, on your new phone install the app and new sim and there is an option to change sim in the settings. Once changed you are good to go.

Edit: to order a sim card you can use PM or Amazon or go to a Telus or Koodo store and get one in person.

hi @bazzarichie

are you in Manitoba?  if so, you need a new phone ASAP.

and for the new phone, if your current one is using a nano sim card, you don't need another new sim card.

After you got a new phone, you can then move the sim card over

but problem is , we don't know which basic flip phone will work with PM VoLTE.  We thought the one sold by Telus, ZTE, will work, but one said work, one said it doesn't

I think you should buy a basic smart phone, like Samsung A15 to be safe
