Hello- I noticed there was an update to the $35 plan at some point (1.5G to 2G). When I attempt to switch to the current, better plan there is a notification warning me "This cost of this plan is higher than your current available funds. You will need to make a payment to your account to complete the plan change. "... why...? It's the same amount...? I have auto-pay plus one friend referral. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Changing your plan makes little difference on your loyalty reward unless you "change now" then the new renewal date will slightly delay its application but it will appear in your rewards after your 12th renewal and apply on your 13th.

@mpcdesign wrote:@adoug, it's always better to change a plan when you renewal date. Since you registered this year in February, you would get $3 off per month, come February or March, you will start to see loyalty reward coming into play, where you will save $4 a month.
@mpcdesign in your example.. what if you change the plan now (Dec).. does that mean it will have to be next Dec again before they will trigger the extra $1 off?
Also, let say the exact renew date is Feb 3... so, we should best to upgrade "before" , or "after" or "right on" Feb 3?

You have two choices when changing your plan.....
Change plan now: usually only chosen when a user has used all of their plan data and need more than 1gb of data before their renewal occurs. Renewing the same plan requires moderator intervention ( in your case the plan is new so in theory you should be able to change it yourself.) In all cases add the full plan cost ( rewards do not apply til your next renewal) and then choose "change plan now" and submit. Your new 30 day plan' starts now.
Change on next renewal: the vast majority of users choose this option. You make your choice of a new plan. Then choose "change on next renewal " this schedules your plan change for your next renewal . You can cancel or choose a different plan right up until renewal (dont cut it too close!) Its recommended that if you are changjng to a higher priced plan to add sufficient funds to your account balance to cover the plan to avoid a possible glitch causing autopay to fail.

@adoug, it's always better to change a plan when you renewal date. Since you registered this year in February, you would get $3 off per month, come February or March, you will start to see loyalty reward coming into play, where you will save $4 a month.
The error message that you see now, is basically, you don't have sufficient funds in your account. You can manually add additional funds to change the plan right away. To be honest with you, always add a month's payment just in case the system goes down the day of your renewal date. Yes, the moderators can fix it, but having the extra funds could eliminate any issues you know.

@adoug : Set it to change at next renewal. Then have enough funds to cover the new plan.
