Will the $2 discount ever come back when enrolled in autopay?

Hard to say but if the Points system is not working out for PM.
They might switch back to attract more new customers. 🤷‍ Who knows.

The definition to work out or not for PM is whether it saves PM money.  In this sense, for sure it will work out

New member would not  like it, but compare with Lucky and Chatr that don't have rewards or discount and they pretty much charge the same, PM still save people money.  So, there is pretty much 0 chance that this new plan won't work out.

The only thing that might not work out for PM is that it still not saving enough and they will take away reward completely to make its service and price identical to the other 2 Tier 3.

Who says it's not working out?

The thing with points is that you always have some points on account - which you don't want to waste, you only need to earn/save a few more points so you have enough to spend them. You stick around.

Until you spend them. But then you get another month of service or more minutes or more data or whatever you bought - which you don't want to waste, you start using things up. You stick around.

But by then you've collected some more points again. And the cycle repeats indefinitely.

It's a constant progress bar which measures a steady trickle of money into your pocket. Not as rewarding as old Rewards in the long run, but long term commit doesn't attract a lot of new customers, instant payouts do attract a lot of new customers, and instant payouts keep those new customers hooked.

You know what, @mchand21 , one never knows whether some future special occasion might offer a promotion period whereby NEW activations might get this option to join under the now 'grandfathered' reward program.

But I certainly wouldn't hold my breath...

@mchand21 : It was the old Rewards system. Not really a promotion per se. But if you got a plan of more than $40 then it might work out with Points.

I’m new to Public Mobile but was told by my coworker that this promotion existed, looks like I’m too late.

@mchand21 , unfortunately not.  The new activations are on the point system.  You get point for spending money, including paying for the service renewals.  Points can spend like money.  So it sort of like getting $ back.

Not if you're on the new Points system. Do you think you're still on the old system and wondering why you're not getting it?
