Things to know
Getting the plan
Pick & Pay Customers
If you are an existing Pick & Pay customer you can sign up for the promotional plan in self-serve. Just paid for your next 30/90 days? Don’t worry, you can future date a rate plan at any time during the promotion. This means after your current service period is up, you will automatically be switched to the promo plan. Just make sure you future date your rate plan while the promotion is available because once it’s gone, you won’t be able to get it!
Legacy Customers
If you are a legacy customer who is interested in the promo, you will need to call into the call centre in order to change your plan to the promotional plan. Please note that once you switch to a Pick & Pay plan, you will be unable to switch back to your old plan and you will lose access to the call centre.
New Customers
As a new customer, you can sign up for the promo plan through the activation process. You will need to have your SIM card in hand in order to activate, so please be sure to order it first! Remember, this promotion is for a limited time only so, if you want to take advantage of it, be sure to activate as soon as possible!

@SD08 great catch! we have our support teams working on resolving this issue.

It seems that the formatting of your original post got all messed up when you updated it to indicate the promo is expired. There is a whole bunch of " " markers everywhere. I'm guessing you did the update from a mobile device. You might want to redo that from a desktop machine.
That's something a few of us have noticed: when we edit a post from a mobile device, it screws up the formatting. Might want to check that out.

@TheOssumPossum you can keep it indefinitely. You will only lose it in one of two ways:
1) explicity change to some other plan, at which point you won't be able to get this one back; or
2) let you account go unpaid (suspended service) for 90 days past your last paid cycle

As long as you keep it and don't change to any other plan, it will keep on renewing.

@Cocodale this is because its pre-paid. If you are currently on a plan, you will lose that plan, but will need to put funds into your account so you can have the new plan.
Its recomended that if you have auto pay, that you do a future date plan change. Meaning, when your current plan ends, the new one will begin. That way you dont pay more in the end if you just started another billing cycle

If you're going to be near downtown Vancouver tomorrow [Wed May 10th] and need a SIM to activate on this promo plan, I'll bring a few spares with me to work tomorrow, near the Burrard skytrain station. If you want to arrange to pick one up, please don't reply here but send me a private message and include your email address or a number I can text you at and we can arrange something. Sorry I should have thought of offering this earlier this week.

There won't be sim sale in downtown this time So it's a good idea if you can find someone nearby.

I have a spare SIM, in fact two. 🙂 For just such an occasion !
Willing to meet in north Scarborough, anywhere in Markham, downtown Stouffville, Richmond Hill east (along 404 corridor) and heck I'll even do west Pickering (york-durham line).
And ..... I will only charge you for the cost of the SIM ($5 plus taxes). Then during set up, use my number as a referal. When all set up and I'm getting rewards, I will email you a money transfer for $10 ! So essentially the SIM is free and I'm willing to share some of the reward.
Sound good to anyone that needs a SIM fast ? PM me. I only have two SIM's though. First come first served.

@ghayas17 what I've been told is that they will not be allowing people to sign up if they ordered a sim before the deadline, but didn't get it in time. They did it with the last big promo in November, but apparently won't be doing it this time. If you order now, you MAY still get it by Wednesday, but it's impossible to say for certain.

i would order one now (its only $5) and hopefully you get it by May 10th, which im 90% sure you will. I'm not 100% sure if they will honor the promo if your sim card is late, but who knows!

@ghayas17 it depends. The SIM cards are shipped through Canada post (expeidated) from Mississauga (At least i think so). Are you close to Mississauga? Perhaps a friend or someone on here close to you has a SIM. But you need the SIM card # in order to activate

Hi, I would like to sign up for this promo deal. I see in your process that I have to order a SIM card first, then upon receipt, activate it and suscribe to the new plan. My question is: if I place an order for a sim card today, would I recieve it in time to activate it and still be able to add this promotional offer by May 10th?
Follow up, if I dont get my sim card, can i still sign up for the offer and activate it once I recieve my sim card?
Thank you,
Ghayas

Just catching up on this thread...
If someone needs a SIM in the Downtown, or Mississauga area... I have a spare!

@lrhk007 wrote:I wonder if it would be possible to get the SIM number that is being sent so it can be activated with a plan before it arrives.
Unfortunately, they don't (as far as I know) take note of the sim card number that was mailed out to you. So you'll just have to wait for it to arrive. It *would* be nice if they included the sim card number in the shipment notification, so you could activate right away, but:
1 - if the sim card gets lost in the mail, or mis-delivered, now there's somebody else holding on to your (already activated) sim card.
2 - it's a lot of extra manual labour for their fulfillment team, which will lead to delays and other added costs.

As mentioned, you must have a SIM before activating. It is not impossible for a SIM to arrive by Wednesday, as they can sometimes be delivered within 2 days, depending on how far you are from Mississauga, ON. But if you were to take a chance, I would not wait any longer to put an order in. Worst that can happen is you'll miss the deadline for this promo, but you'll have a $5 SIM ready for the next promo.
No, it's not possible to get the SIM # before it arrives. PM does not assign SIM numbers beforehand. They are all prepackaged.
