My wife just switched over to Public Mobile and is now getting the message Ssm Messaging now requires her phone number. she goes to do that but her number won’t save. Is this a known issue?she also can not receive text messages

My wife just switched over to Public Mobile and is now getting the message Ssm Messaging now requires her phone number. she goes to do that but her number won’t save. Is this a known issue? thanks 

Switched over to Public Mobile and my phone number can’t be verified. says there is an error. I have tried resetting the phone and doing network resets. any advice
