You do but there are still lots (some, a few,) people who want some one else to do the setting up for them. Especially those new to the cellular world. How do I know this? We went to the other W place to buy a PM sim card and the clerk for no extra payment set up our phone service. Now I like to think I could have done it my self but it was certainly a more pleasent experience having her do it and give me a quick how to lesson as well. Similarly when I bought my phone. It was the same price in my local shop as it was on line and as a first time owner/user the clerk showed me some basics. Having said all that I too would not be surprised to see fewer mall kiosks selling phones and plans, not more.
