Mandated MVNO access ... just ain't gonna happen

I've read a number of articles about this topic. This article seems to sum up the most ridiculous points if you read what's not being said:

https://canadanewsmedia.ca/cwta-says-benefits-of-mandated-mvno-access-are-speculative-mobilesyrup/

Seems the CWTA (anti-consumer voice of the oligarchs) has "successfully" argued that MVNO will force them to waste money on innovation, will force money to be wasted on enforcing the mandate itself, and will somehow force the consumer to pay the costs.

I wholly agree that 5G seems overhyped and underuseful. But many people let their wallets disagree, they're willing to buy (demanding to buy) the 5G commodity at premium price, so it's obviously something the wireless operators won't ignore.

But 5G would happen faster if the MNOs had to compete for the business of MVNOs. MNOs would always have to offer more for less or their MVNO customers would take their business (along with their customers) to competing networks.

The free competition model seems to stimulate innovation, technology, and lower prices in USA, most of Europe, half of Asia. They're so far ahead that they've even reached the point where they are becoming able to offer better and cheaper plans when in Canada from companies operated outside of Canada, lol, the Canadian MNOs are going to regret this little regulatory turf war when foreign businesses start taking a noticeable chunk out of "their" customer revenues out of country. Short term greed, long term fail.

Here's the CWTA pushing their agenda that the latest and greatest (5G) is a must have for most consumers. When really it's just another innovation to charge consumers more money for something we really don't need in our daily lives. Will make phone calls better or text messages faster? No....and do we really need light speed data ? No as the popularity of public mobile and our throttled data speed shows it's really unnecessary. It's solely for consumers with $2000 cell phones wanting there surname to be Jones.
