I've been a "part-time student" for decades now. Always learning something. And always got homework, lol. It's an unusually quirky habit when younger, it's an entirely unexpected eccentricity when older.
There's so many "free" courses. And so many resources (online, libraries, etc) filled with everything needed for "self-directed learning". Even with COVID-19 causing BCIT and UFV campus shutdowns, lol.
It dismays me that people can't squeeze a handful of course credit hours per year into their busy television-filled lives. Game of Thrones certainly wouldn't add more value to my life than investing that time (actually less time) into a new hobby, new skill, new friends, or new salary. Especially since I read the books and, in truth, they basically started strong then became a series of dull and sucky "soap opera" narratives.
It confounds me that people wouldn't want to know more and improve (and be worth more) at stuff they already know and do all the time.
