There's a post down in the lounge by someone talking about another esim service.
For sim service I have my eye on red pocket mobile via ebay. Prepay for a year and it averages out to $2.50USD per month. Great for low usage. Supplement with a voip app and of course focus on wifi sites. And they have add-ons.
Adding - I had also been looking at ultra mobile paygo but red pocket was a little sweeter and a little less. Be aware of the possibility of a provider locking your phone to them. Also that the provider is properly transitioning from 3G.

HI @gbranscombe Other prepaid providers to consider
Ultra Mobile Tourist. Best overall.
T-Mobile Prepaid. Best prepaid data plan.
AT&T Prepaid.
Mint Mobile. Best for extended stays.
Lycamobile. Best value.
Cricket Wireless. Best data only.

Remember, if you don’t keep up with your payment longer than 90 days. Your account will be closed and you will loss your number.
So switch to the $15 plan on AutoPay.

I would suggest you go with Mint Mobile or Tello Mobile.
They gave the best priced monthly plan and uses a SIM.
You can check them online.
