Introduction

As a subscriber to Public Mobile, you're likely familiar with the variety of unique perks that come with using our service. Among them is the Public Points Rewards program, which is a straightforward and rewarding way to get even more from your subscription. However, not everyone might be aware of how to get the most out of this program. So, here's a guide to help you maximize your Public Points and make every dollar count.

What Are Public Points?

For those who activated their Public Mobile subscriptions after January 25, 2022, or have opted into the Public Points program, this is for you. Public Points make your monthly subscriptions even better by letting you earn points you can use for bill payments, add-ons, and even exclusive contests. The best part? No minimum spend, no expiry dates, and a super simple conversion rate of 1 point to $1.

Getting Started

Once you subscribe to Public Mobile, you're automatically enrolled in the Public Points program. If you're an old subscriber and want to switch from the legacy rewards to Public Points, you can easily do so through the Public Mobile app or My Account online. Within four days, you'll be all set to start earning and redeeming points.

How to Earn Points

Earning points with Public Points is a breeze. Here are some ways you can stack up those points:

One-Time Rewards

  • Refer-a-Friend: Get 1 point every 30 days for every active friend you referred to Public Mobile.
  • Give Back: Earn between 1 and 20 points for participating and helping others in the Public Mobile Community.

How to Redeem Your Points

You can use your points for a variety of things like reducing your bill, getting free add-ons, or entering exclusive contests. You can redeem your points through the Public Mobile app or My Account online.

A Few Tips to Maximize Your Public Points

  • Pay Your Bills On Time: One of the easiest ways to earn points is by simply paying your bills. So, make it a habit.

Should we all be lodging complaints?   I tried going thru PM customer service and got nowhere.  I’d be happy if they just went back to the old system that worked so well

Yeah it's annoying this way because you have to use a separate login to even access your messages... which is different from your regular Public Mobile login info... I hate this new system.

Mine was $6 less, I'm pretty upset about this too. But there might be hope with the CCTS? Not sure: https://www.iphoneincanada.ca/2024/03/31/ccts-rejecting-public-mobile-responses-rewards-complaints/

I was wondering about this too, I saw this article was published a while back, but no other news:

Yes, if you deactivate your account any points that you have accumulated will be lost!

First off you need At Least 15 points to be able to apply it to your bill. At the bottom of your mobile app, you will see a rewards tab  Click on this and you will see available rewards according to how many points you currently have! Check out the catalogue and look for Bill Credits. Again, keep in mind you need a minimum of 15 points!

Fizz now offers coverage in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Ontario. It's also still available in Quebec

Any word on the CCTS getting involved?

Totally agree

I got squat as well, other that the 5 welcome bonus  ones.  On the old system,  I saved money for the 3 others that used my referral code plus the money I saved with auto-pay and loyalty. Sigh.
Supposed to get point by participating here but I’ve seen nothing and I’m handing out bravo and adding comments but I’ve seen no points added

I've been with public mobile for years... but the only one-time reward I got when I was switched over was the 5 points... I didn't get the 1 point per 30 days I've been with them.

Honestly, that's probably why they changed it. Because they weren't making enough money with the old reward system. This is basically them coming up with a way to make more money while telling their customer this is an upgraded reward system... Sucks for us, more money in their pockets. I'm still getting better service with public than the other service providers ( I mean cell service, not customer service... The whole browser based messaging system for customer service is outrageously incompetent... Although it's still better then trying to call rogers for anything)

Steph_Hicks

Really dislike this new rewards system.  It sucks and it’s not the savings they bill it to be.  I complained, logged a Customer Support ticket an got no where.  Whoever thought this new plan was better clearly missed the boat.

Wondering how give back points work? So would my comments such as this be counted as engagement with the community?

Steph_Hicks
Great Neighbour / Super Voisin

I hung on to the old loyalty plan until they booted me to the new one.  My last bill under the old loyalty plan was $8 less - plus I have the rest of the family set up all with autopay, so it was a savings of about $15-$18/month.  That adds up over the year.  I loved the old plan.  Rewards were awarded automatically.  It was simple.

I think if they transferred the loyalty years and automatic payment discount, no one would really have a problem with this new system... unfortunately they stupidly didn't and now I'm in the same boat!

Yeah I agree, it will take a while unfortunately.

the old program was so much simpler

That's PC mobile.

I went with Fizz who is even less but 4G which is fine by me. With Fizz, while the network uses partners so you'll need to be in a major city but your phone will work anywhere a carrier exists in Canada. If you are located in a major city, you're all set. You'll also get a $25 discount at sign up if you use a referral code (AVDWT)

What company is that through? I am in western Canada and not sure if that company is here.

If this is the truth, maybe is time to switch, PC just come up $29 25GB-5G speed.

Pedror1978

This whole rewards program is now a joke. I have referred people to Public Mobile and they are still there. I have also been with Public Mobile for over 4 years and I am supposed to get points for each year and I got nothing for any of it. I have a total of 5 points when it should be a lot higher than that. Also now Public Mobile is taking random withdrawals before the bill is ever due.

RepntbaptizedJC

No matter how much propaganda you spin. This is terrible and way worse for your customers.

MelissaRN

Yeah it really should be integrated into the app. It doesn't even carry over credentials so I have to log in twice.

anotheran

I get how the point system will get subscribers to stay longer so they can use up their points after it hits the $15 threshold, but at least give us the ability to have it applied automatically so older ppl like grandparents don't need to remember to check every month
