I would like to see a complete picture that includes the amount after taxes. I use a prepaid card for all online transaction, and have easily made the mistake of not putting enough on the card. Would love to see that it's $52 not $47 that I owe.

It should not be too hard to do since they are already calculating it when they charge the card.  But in the end for now if we know the prices are pre tax  we simply have to remmeber to add it manually.  a  couple reminders saying remmber taxes will be added (or prices displayed are pre tax, wouldn't hurt either.

It's almost like PM has taken "taxes extra" to the extreme having the only place taxes are shown is when you go to add funds as you say... (though calculating tax is pretty easy) It would be nice as you said if they just showed every single price what the total cost for your region would be... Everything should just include tax so your balance is 100 not 100 but secretly $112 on your credit card.

Public Mobile is no different than Walmart in this respect.

Everything on the shelf at Walmart falls into 3 categories (at least in Ontario).  Item has HST at 13%, Item has HST at 5% (provincial portion is exempt), or has no tax (ie purchase a pound of cofffee under $4 by itself).

It's up to the consumer to know the tax rules in their province or territory.

@stonechucker I agree with you that on the shelf it's up to the buyer to figure it out. However, at the register the bill includes the tax. I have never gone to Walmart, have the cashier tell me the total is $100 and then swipe my card and find out the bank took out $112. And telling the customer it's due to taxes.  I would just like to see a total charge before agreeing to the charges.

@kat101, then I suggest you purchase vouchers from a local retailer.  Take the amount shown by PM on your self-serve account to the retailer, and ask to pay for your public mobile service by a real-time voucher.  The retailer will tell you the final amount, including the tax.

Honestly, how difficult is it to figure out on your own?  Example, 13% in Ontario, or 10%+1%+1%+1%.  So, $120 + $12 + $1.2 + $1.2 + $1.2 = $135.60.
