Many new customer become fustrated when they do not hear from PM mods for days or see their messages are unread.

In high volume times there should be a banner or announcement which says "we are currently working on messaged recieved on day x,  please be patient and please only send one message as we work in the order messages are recieved.  this shoulld be updated daily

I know this was discussed last year but didn;t find a Public Lab post.

Re: the ticketing system, i understand the benefits of it, but it might kill the community.  I guessit all depends how it is implemented.

I used an wordpress theme that switched from a forum to tickets system. And the community i feel lost out as solutions and  problems were no longer public. I think people would go straight to creating tickets than posting on the forum and possibly solving issues without mod intervention.

I gave a thumbs up only because yes, this is absolutely necessary, but when it comes down to it, it's not really a solution, it's just a band-aid.  The solution is a proper ticketing system, which was promised to us after the fiasco that was the November promo, but still seems to be nowhere to be found.

idk how long it's taken for people to be contacted in the past, just as long as it's five business days or less I'm happy, so I don't think this sort of notification would be necessary if the reply would be in the week.

@SereneSun - the standard response time is usually an hour or two, when things aren't going insane.  I admire your patience, but if you're without service, increasing from that time to even 24-48 hours is a HUGE increase and worth notifying customers about, nevermind up to 5 days.  🙂

@WearySky  I never suggested this as a solution but rather a method to communicate. I know jermey set a message stating 2 days but i do not recall any further announcements.  You know members are fustrated when they start posts staying let us now your wait time. The real  solution would be to fix the bugs in the backend that caused the initial problems, preventing issues is the best solution,  and even with a ticketing system people would be saying i sent a ticket 3 days ago and no reply....
