custom SMS alerts / e-mail notifications

My bank currently provides me with customize alerts for different spending category. In the same concepts, would it be possible to introduce customized SMS alerts to let me know when I reach a certain level of data for my billing cycle ? I know PM already sends the typical data usage alert but I would benefit from a custom alert when I reach a certain level of usage. Since I use the same SIM card in two separate Android phones, I cannot rely on the built in data usage tracking from the phone to track my usage.

I also think that such data usage email alerts would be a great idea.

Yeah since Data is the only thing that gets limited here, I completely agree it would be nice for a notification when you've reached a certain amount of data usage.

That being said I would be shocked if a My Account app isn't already in the works.

well we can hope. I know it would help me manage as I have the 1 gig plan and often run out before end of month before I have time to stretch it out i.e. limit usage of apps that are more data hungry. If I got an alert at 50% then that would help. Having a mobile my account app would help as well but then I would need to sign on often and sometime a SMS is all I need.

It would be useful to get an e-mail alert when approaching the account's data limit.

Android has this in the phone settings and it works well, but I'm getting PM accounts for kids so I'd really rather get an alert sent to the account's e-mail address.
