I think it might have helped one community member today who has two accounts in the family but no vouchers accessible to them today. Their autopay failed on one account and none of their credit cards would be accepted in that account, but they have credit card information that works in their second account. Putting funds into the first account through payment linked to the second account might have gotten back up and running faster.
I can think of a couple more situations in which this might come in handy.
