Reduce spam - limit the amount of new threads to 2 per day per member

To reduce spamming PM should restrict the amount of new threads a member can open to 2 per day or so....

Yes, I got to see the spammer. But after just 5 minutes I "ignored" him/her in my settings and belive me, my feed is so cleaned up now. I see NOTHING from this person anymore.

I disagree. Since community being the only support, there shouldnt be any limit. People will post in random threads if they cannot make new thread.

@NDesai the chances are that you don't have two problems in one day. So if you have a problem it is enough if you post it once.

Limit the PM's not threads because threads can be easily deleted by mods.

That was my second idea... Limit personal messages to 5 per day.

BTW, thread limiting and private message limiting works very well in other forums.

Limiting PM's does work but that wouldn't have prevented what happened on here this morning by one of the users

If someone wants to make an ass of themselves, let them. I've seen PM staff intervene before and hope they'll continue to. Thanks @Jeremy_M!

2 new threads per day is too low. If you're thinking of eliminating SPAM, that number still needs to be higher (in my opinion). If someone wants to spend 12 hours a day on here they shouldn't be limited in what they can do. Flooding on the other hand... unacceptable!

By the way... this Community forum isn't an invention from PM. They use a software package called Lithium. I'm imagine since some really large companies are using this package, that are ways to limit.

Or set up level privilege, so until you become Great citizen, 1 new thread every 4 hours.
