It appears that some PPL might need clarification

Public Ref for Tax.JPG

Alberta ONLY Prov with ZERO PST, ONLY 5% GST

ALL 3 Territories have NO HST or PST, ONLY 5% GST

Hoping this Info can at least prove useful for those who might need to use Cal and see what their rate after tax will be

So, Here's the Breakdown:

GST is 5% across the Board

PST WILL Vary Prov-Prov-Prov-Prov-Prov

ONT: 13% HST (5% GST, Fed, 8% PST, Prov)

Alb:  NO HST, NO PST, ONLY 5% GST

BC:  NO HST, JUST the Normal GST/PST, 12%( 5% GST, 7% PST)

SASK: NO HST, JUST the Normal GST/PST,  10%( 5% GST, 5% PST)

MANIT: NO HST, JUST the Normal GST/PST, 12%( 5% GST, 7% PST)

QUEBECIAN: NO HST, JUST the Normal GST/PST,  14.975%( 5% GST, 9.975%  PST)

ALL 3 Territories HAVE NO HST OR PST, ONLY 5% GST

P.E.I. :  15% HST( 5% GST, 10% PST)

Nov Scot:  15% HST( 5% GST, 10% PST)

New Found Labrador:  15% HST( 5% GST, 10% PST)

New Bruns:  15% HST( 5% GST, 10% PST)

Hope this helps PPL who switch to PM Understand the Tax they'll need to pay in their respective Provs when picking their Plans and Cycles

My opinion, Cell and stuff SHOULD ONLY have GST, NO HST or PST, It's a National Interest, so Provs do NOT Count in my opinion

&, should the Tax be more like 2.5% that would Make plans more Affordable and PPL can be able to have a Cell phone in their Hands

Ok people should know what taxes they are paying in the Provinces they are living in and good luck trying to get a separate tax rate for cell phones and a National Interest if cell phones are a national interest and shouldn't have provincial taxes what about food or gas.  I don't usually post on  ideas that are out there but this one is pretty out there.

Taxes depend one’s home province, which is defined by the phone numbers’s area code.

@makkhan28, seriously you want your carrier to remind you the tax rate? The only thing that sometimes confuses customers is that the fees shown in the self serve portal is ex taxes leading some to think that the numbers shown includes taxes. If there are any changes to consider, perhaps explain that the numbers don't include applicable taxes.

I’ve never understood why various customers do not understand that taxes are on top of of the listed costs, and that it always depends on the Province associated with the area code of their phone number.

Public Mobile does not hide this information.  It’s. Clearly defined in the footnotes, if not positioned directly above or below listed prices, and at payment.

This is normal, for everyone in North America.

Now, got to Europe if you want VAT....   which is my preferred method of taxing the consumer, as there is no sticker shock at the cash register, as all prices INCLUDE THE TAX.

SORRY for the rant.... I’ve been awake too long.

If there was a special tax on top of the regular taxes people pay then i could see the need for a chart,  but gst, pst and hst are all part of life and all advertised prices i see  are pretax except for maybe gas prices.

I would think people know their tax rate is based on the province they live in. I live in Ontario, therefore, I know I pay 13% tax.

@makkahn28 My opinion is that this is obvious. Everyone should know their tax rate in their province.

Actually, Other than ONT and Alb, I never knew the Tax rate in the other Prov-Prov-Prov-Prov-Prov-Prov-Prov-Prov

Or that the Territories ONLY paid 5% GST

If the Tax was like 2.5%, that would make having A/C more affordable, Like the Affordable Care Act

Perhaps Canada should have something that Protects the Consumer in these

The Affordable Telecom and Consumers Protection of Canada Act, just saying, Replace the CRTC/CCTS with a SINGLE Entity with the TEETH to crack down on any Carrier that's been straying off the path

With REAL Stiff fines for Non-Compliance, like 35-40% of Total Equity of Telecom's Network Spectrum being taken back for redistribution

Perhaps what's needed is a complete root canal of the entirety of the system, Break apart the BIG 3, and Reset the System, Mandating that 5 Carriers, PER Prov, &, that example, how Tel has Telus Mobil, Koodo, PM, PC Mobile Post Paid, Bell Mobil, Virgin, Lucky, PC Mobile Prepaid, while Rogers Wireless, Fido, Chatr, That they wouldn't Exactly count, as it SHOULD BE GENUINE Independent Carriers, Both Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G, 5G, this way, perhaps the prices will be better, otherwise the Price will rise 10%, faster and leading to a meltdown of the industry as a whole.

Perhaps Partially Nationalizing this, like 51% is Gov Owned and 100% Monitored, regulated, prices set, The TEETH to act, and perhaps this might entice better cooperation
