Public Mobile App Feature

I know someone has obviously already suggested an app but I was thinking of a really useful feature. For example, on the 3-month plan, with 12Gbs of data (it could work with all of the plans):

• a clear visual breakdown of the data you used each month so that you can tell how you decided it up within the three months
• another visual breakdown of how many minutes were used
• there could also be a section at the bottom (or top) that shows the total amount of data/minutes you have left.

I think these features would be very intuitive versus other similar apps from competing wireless companies and would make it incredibly user friendly experience.

That would require them to track what you do on their network, and keep log of every site and so on you go to. Although they may already do that.

I use Call Meter 3g (Android). It breaks down data used, minutes in, minutes out, texts in and texts out. You are able to set custom plans for any that Public Mobile has and it has a variety of widgets.

@Shutdown I don't necessarily think that they would have to track everything you do, just the how much of it 🙂

And thanks for the recommendation @Chicklets have you found the data tracker to be accurate because a lot of the reviews say it hasn't been?

If they don't track you they won't be able to differentiate usage into different categories cause they won't know what's what.

Since only data is not unlimited usage, it is the only item that needs any kind of tracking. There is an app available on the play store designed specifically for use with the Public Mobile 30/90 day plans. Developing an app isn't likely a something that will be high on the priority list.

Your phone should also have a default data tracker. It can give you a detailed breakdown on your data usage.

@alldylallday you could also check out another community favourite My Data Manger.  I beleive it does most/all of what you are looking for also.  There's another called Data Witness provided by community member @IWIK which handles the data side of what you're asking for but doesn't do talk or text tracking (presumably since these are all unlimited plan features).  I could potentially see the need for call tracking for LD Add-on minutes.  I have never tried MDM to tell you if it can do that specifically as I'm a Data Witness user so far.  🙂
