Hi Public Mobile,

There should be a Pay-Per-Minute rate or an Addon pack for talk.

At this moment with Public Mobile, it's either Unlimited Talk, or No Talk at all. A lot of people, including most younger individuals, only use their smartphones for texting and data, with calling being rarely done.

For me, I don't talk enough on mobile to justify getting Unlimited Talk for $20 a month. I still want to get Unlimited Texting and 1GB of Data for $35 a month, and some (non-expiring!) minutes in an addon or a pay-per-minute rate just in-case I need to voice call.

Every single carrier in this country only offers "Talk", "Talk & Text", and "Talk, Text, and Data", in a generation where people communicate by text, and not talk.

Offering us an option for "Minimal-to-Some Talk" instead of either "Unlimited Talk" or "No Talk. Period." in addition to the "Unlimited Texting & 1GB of Data for $35" package will allow a lot of people to justify switching to Public Mobile.

Very well put Minh!

While i do use enough minutes to justify unlimited (especially at the rate PM gives it) I agree that there a a large market that would be attracted to this option.

just add the same option as koodo prepaid offer! it would be perfect!

@Sure I agree some minutes you can use occasionally would be good for those who don't use there phones a whole lot. But please no suggestions of any Pay Per use charges. Pay per use charges can cause a nightmare Specially if you don't have a credit card. Example: You added a $35 Top Up cards to cover your monthly fees for the next 30 days, a Pay Per use charge of voice, text & data can cause that $35 to go down without you knowing thus you plan won't renew. So no Pay Per use.

If I pay for "500 Anytime Minutes" Add-ons, I would have enough of minute for the half of the year.
Remember, add-ons never expires.

Actually, if PM brought back the Wallet, That Pay-Per-Use can work Purrfectly. Options galore

I read into this based on @PowerLemons original post. What they are more looking for is an addon like they have for data. Pay for 100 minutes for $X and use them up as you go over the next 10 months. If you run out you have to manually pay for the next 100 minutes. Just like data.

For the Pay-Per-Minute solution, I originally thought of a rate that would be charged for every minute - like other carriers. It would be great for those who talk next-to-none, because they wouldn't have to buy minutes they will not need. But from what I'm reading around here, a Pay-Per-Minute rate would be complicated because of the current system that is in place.

I would rather have Add-ons (with a set amount of minutes) for Talk instead of a Pay-Per-Minute rate, because it's simpler for me to use and explain to other people. Have the Talk add-ons like the Data add-ons, no expiry as long as regular service is being paid. It would be great Smiley Happy.

However, I'm fine with either solution. As long as I can talk when needed for a reasonable price, I'm happy.

TL;DR for PM Staff & Lazy People: Add-ons > Pay-Per-Minute, but either (or both!) are okay.

TL;DR = Too Long; Didn't Read

^well I hope there are no pay per use charges on PM, Like I said above a pay per use system can cause a huge issue of a plan not being able to renew. But on the other hand yeah an add on of certain amount of minutes that never expire would be nice for those who don't use much voice

Minh, this is an awesome idea!

I personally need Canada-wide talk minutes, but I definitely use less than what would justify having unlimited talk time. I would much rather have an emphasis on larger data caps/cheaper data in favour of making my talk time a bit more limited.

The idea of treating it like other carriers do data is great (e.g. extra X minutes for $X), and using it like an add-on is an awesome idea. It's kind of sleazy the way carriers will not give you ample warning when you're about to go over your data cap.

That can be true. I think PM should attempt to bridge the gap
