I'm uncertain about the original accuracy of the email recieved from PM this post was based off of so i'm deleting this suggestion the only way i can. (by editing it)
^That email is in correct, You do not need data to send MMS. What you need is Data enabled and APN for Internet & mms to be configured properly in order for it to work on your Device
