I know the whole idea for Public Mobile is to have the community forums as the primary support channel to keep the service low cost and no-frills, but having a relative real-time chat service would help. There's simply no way telling when a mod will get back via PM and posts, especially frustrating when there are relatively urgent issues (e.g. service got disconnected). However if you're at least queueing in an online chat, you have an estimate where you are in the line.

you can try messaging them on facebook. When i first signed up and my SIM wasnt delivered, i contacted them through facebook messenger. Support was reasonably fast (given there was the big promo going on)

Outside promos moderators respond within a few hours. Worse during promos, but then chat would be no better. It's best to just be prepared.  PM will not suit everyone.

I do agree a "clock" showing the current response time by moderators would be very helpful.

As mentioned above Facebook and Twitter might work . But bringing live chat meaning increasing staff . So it goes to the money story again.

I have experienced Telus "Live Chat"  I was on there for 4 hours to get to where they then went to Closed.  Got back on it the next day and was 43 in line.  I went to work came home I was then 18 I didn't get through that day either.  It was like 17 hours in live chat of total time before I got service.  So it was almost 3 days real time by the time I was helped.  I have found this better then that service.  During promos it is a bit longer for sure but that is also the major thing new customers must know about PM is if they can handle possible delays with they service and how issues are dealt with.

Asked for many times, unlikely to ever be implemented.  And I personally am totally fine with that.  Real time chat requires a much bigger staff.  More staff costs more money.  And you know where that cost gets transferred to.

@Anonymous do you even have to ask why?  Because it's cheaper, obviously.

@Anonymous Well, unfortunately for those people if they don't speak one of Canada's official languages (English or French), they'll have to find a carrier that can afford to cater to their language.  That's one of the (many, I assume) negatives to living in a country where you don't speak the language.
