Can we please have more US roaming options. I recently went across the border for about 4 hours and didn't like the fact that I was completely unreachable in the event of an emergency back home (I had a sick toddler at home that I had been worried about).
So what I'd like to see is maybe something like the following
A $5 plan that expires after 24-48 hours and allows limited (maybe 50) texting and limited voice calling (25 minutes perhaps).
Or perhaps a $5 add-on we can buy that never exires and will be good for very minimal text/calling in the US for whenever we happen to cross (in this case, maybe like 15-20 texts and 10-15 voice minutes. Obviously with such low limits, it would only be there so we can be reached or in case we need to make an important phone call or send an imporant text.
People aren't going to buy those packages for any reason other than a day trip to the US and they don't want to be unreachable.
Yes, there are other options such as Roam mobility, but that involves call forwarding, removing SIM's, keeping track of multiple SIM's. Plus, Roam's SIM's now expire after 1 year without use, so it's not practical for everyone.
This is beginning to be an issue for me to the point where I may have to leave public mobile. I need to cross to the US for an hour next week but I hate the thought of my daycare not being able to reach me in case of an emergency, but it's crazy to buy the 10 day plan for an hour.
Yes, I'm a paranoid first time parent, but that's besides the point. I think my suggestions are completely reasonable and practical.
