Mobile Phone Protection Service - Asurion?

Hello,

This is something new to me and I'm not sure how it would work, but has Public Mobile considered offering phone protection plans?  I was just made aware of Asurion and they apparently seem to offer protection against loss, theft, damage and malfunction.  My initial research seems to indicate that it's something the carrier would set up... but I could be wrong.

I'd like to know more about that and wonder if others might echo that?

salondijon mentioned that asurion is purchased when you buy a phone... makes sense.  Could it be intoduced as a service for phones purchased through Public Mobile's Orchard supplier.  I realize they are reconditioned... but... ?

Unfortunately, PM no longer sells handsets, so This idea would unfortunatley be moot. PM set up like this so as to offer competitive pricing, wish they could, of course, but fees would increase.
