Something I think that should be improved on this message board is some kind of MOD status.

What I am referring to is this:

A client has an issue with his account

He randomly tags a few of the most active MODs not knowing who is around

One answers, details are sent via private message and then... nothing....

We all understand MODs (and Oracles and great posters such as myself ha ha Cat Embarassed ) have lives offfline, but having some kind of notice at top of page like "MODs Shawn and Mary are online now" would be super helpful in who we should tag when we have problems or "MOD Luddite on vacation 2 weeks please do not message"

As it stands now I am sure it confuses MODs (which is handling the request?) when more than 1 gets tagged and we wait for long periods of time thinking something is being fixed when in reality the MOD is enjoying some family time

I also previously commented there REALLY should be a sub-forum for Help/Support since otherwise all that happens now is the most active posters just jump in and re-tag MODs anyways...

There is already an internal process to handle requests when all the MODs are tagged in a post. Anyone sending a private message to a moderator, or anyone else for that matter, is at the mercy of that schedule.

When members are unable to assist, or recognize a bug, tagging all the moderators is the way to go.

I'm not so sure about this @Luddite

I've twice had issues with MODs dissapearing after initial information exchange

If there really is a system, then really they (internally) should be handling their backups better (so when MOD A is leaving out of office, MOD B will keep the ball rolling)

I think it's a good idea. I've seen several threads wherein frustrated users quickly receive support from mods (or other great posters) ... but then they come back and report that it didn't work for them ... and apparently no longer receive support for their issue. It usually looks like once somebody with authority and knowledge steps in, everybody else with authority and knowledge steps out to avoid confusing the issue. But in the end the frustrated user is left hanging onto increased frustration. Seeing which mods are online might be helpful, having easy clicky links to flag attention from mods might be helpful.
