Longer Plan Terms!

I have a feeling this idea has been brought up before, but I wanted to bring it up in the case it wasn't.

I was thinking of something as simple as just a longer term than the already lengthy 90 days. What about adding a 6 month option and full year option? Larger data buckets would be required, but the overall simplicity of paying for your plan once and not having to worry for the next month, or even year is very appealing!

I think only those who are already with PM and know how the service is working out for them would use longer period plans....but for new comers 3 months seems good option at the beginning.

I see what you mean, but even if a newcomer were to sign up on a 30/90 day. On renewal they will at least know whether the service works out for them and potentially upgrade to a longer term plan. I'm not saying to eliminate the shorter term plans. Just for those of us who know what we need out of our service and would prefer to only pay once or twice a year, more variety can't hurt right? 🙂

I think PM should eventually offer at least 120 or 150 if pushing it, but if term was longer a bit, ppl can have some consecutive uninterrupted service.

I agree. It would be great if there was a 6 month option.

On a similar note, what happens currently if PM changes the price of your current plan?

I'm assuming you would pay the new price when your plan expires, but it would be nice if existing customers with credit card auto-renewal were charged the original price.

For example, my plan is $90 for 3 months. If PM changes that plan to cost $100 for 3 months it would be nice if it stayed at $90 for me unless I change to a different plan.

I can see how that might get complicated to keep track of though.

I would say due to the nature of Public Mobile being prepaid you can't really get locked in at any price point. It could fluctuate to any price amount once your plan term is over, if they so choose to change their price scheme.

Yeah you're probably right. In that case a longer term (ie. 6 months) would be a nice way to lock yourself in a the current price for a decent amount of time.

I'm under the impression, that as long as you have current rate plan(s) chosen and as long as they're UNINTERRUPTED, the price would not be fiddled with.

Hello,

According to the PDF titled "Service Terms", which is available as a download at the bottom of pages, Public Mobile must publish, on the plans' page, any changes to terms and conditions, including plan costs, 30 days before it/they become effective.

When you purchase a plan, be it for 10, 30 or 90 days, you and Public Mobile are entering into a mutually binding agreement. As a result, the cost of a plan cannot be increased during its 10, 30 or 90 day CURRENT billing cycle.

Further, and this is my personal opinion, I don't foresee PM increasing prices while it's in Beta or in the process of rebranding itself.
