Hello,

I came across a post in the Koodo community today with "Tax time" as the subject. It seems that our sister company provides up to 18 months of payment history in PDF.

This is relevant to PM. Awhile back, a poster stated that he needed a copy of his payment history in order to be reimbursed by his employer. The most that I could suggest was to print directly from his account, or take screen shots and print them.

He returned a few days ago, explaining that my suggested solutions were unacceptable to his employer. I then explained that he would need his bank manager to attest that any copies of his payment history were true, complete and accurate copies of what was in his account. In short, I was explaining how to have his bank manager to swear an affidavit.

The above should not be necessary.

If PM could provide a PDF, as does Koodo, it would be most helpful in ensuring that PM won't lose customers due to the above.

Hi @clogan2,

If you file a complaint, PM's feelings won't be hurt because corporations have no feelings. Have you ever heard of a company with a Department of the Conscience? Further, if Public Mobile did have a conscience, do you think that it would have allowed Beta problems to continue for so long, and the CRA legal requirement to go unattended since March of last year?

@Jeremy_M The issue is that every other business is required to issue reciepts on payment.

In response to...

1. Credit card statements don't adequately satisfy the requirement as they do not make it clear that HST was charged on the purchase.

2. You are correct in this case.

3. You shouldn't need to ask for them, and a turnaround time of 30 days isn't acceptable: some small business owners have to remit HST to the CRA every 30 days.

@Martin I suppose you are correct, corporations don't have feelings, I guess I'm being silly.

Hi @Jeremy_M,

With all due respect, I must disagree with your post.

At 12:51 PM EDT, @clogan2 stated that receipts should be issued (at the time of payment) and that one shouldn't have to write, requesting one. Assuming that he is correct about the legal requirement, your suggestion that he write, requesting a receipt, doesn't change the fact that Public Mobile is in breach of law.

Further, if his needs or others' are a monthly receipt for employer scrutiny, does that mean that each should be required to write 12 times per annum?

My position remains the same: File a complaint with the CCTS. If there is no substance to it, the complaint will be denied. If there is substance, PM will be obliged to act in conformity with the law.
