Hello,

I came across a post in the Koodo community today with "Tax time" as the subject. It seems that our sister company provides up to 18 months of payment history in PDF.

This is relevant to PM. Awhile back, a poster stated that he needed a copy of his payment history in order to be reimbursed by his employer. The most that I could suggest was to print directly from his account, or take screen shots and print them.

He returned a few days ago, explaining that my suggested solutions were unacceptable to his employer. I then explained that he would need his bank manager to attest that any copies of his payment history were true, complete and accurate copies of what was in his account. In short, I was explaining how to have his bank manager to swear an affidavit.

The above should not be necessary.

If PM could provide a PDF, as does Koodo, it would be most helpful in ensuring that PM won't lose customers due to the above.

How can PM prepaid service can use PDF documents if no invoice is issued, Koodo prepaid is not offering PDF print also, because it issues no bill at the end of the month, it's only koodo Postpaid that provides that kind of PDF bill documents.

Hi benwarez, Whether a service is prepaid or postpaid, payments are made and, as a result, a history is created indicating same. A PDF file is therefore possible.

Considering that PM is prepaid with no possible overages, the company is in the best position to issue histories, knowing that each is correct because, to state it again, there are no overages.

PDF thing is not free, PM should get licences to use it as U know

I agree, not only would it be a 'nice' feature, but because Public Mobile collects HST on their services, they're actually required by law to provide reciepts when they charge the customer directly (without using a top-up voucher).

PDF isn't really necessary, a web page/email clearly showing how much was paid, how much tax was paid, and who it was paid to would likely satisfy the CRA's requirements for invoicing.

I'm disappointed that it's been a full year since you raised this issue, and they have yet to correct it.

Hi @clogan2,

Since I published my post about a bank manager notarizing a print-out of payments made, I was subsequently informed that, if one were to send a webmail to customer service, an official document would be generated providing all necessary information. The caveat was that it would take a long time for that paperwork to be created. I have no idea if anyone has been successful in obtaining a copy from customer service. Alternatively, a faster route appears to be writing to Accounts at PM on York Street in Toronto.

We really shouldn't have to write someone to get them though, they should be issued as soon as a payment is made. It's not very satisfying from a customer experience point-of-view, and besides, they're failing to meet what is required of them by Canadian tax law Smiley Frustrated

Hi @clogan2,

If there is a legal requirement as you state, I strongly recommend that you file a complaint with the CCTS. That should motivate Telus/PM to do the right thing.

Considering that this thread commenced more than a year ago, namely, on March 15, 2015, with nothing done about it, it seems that intervention from the CCTS might be the only route.

But I like Public Mobile, I don't make CCTS complaints about carriers I like!

I guess if that's the only way, that's what I'll do... 😞

Hi @Martin & @clogan2

There are many ways to show proof of purchase with our services.

  1. Credit card statements
  2. Keeping the receipt from the voucher purchase
  3. Sending us an email and giving us the exact details which are requested, and we would be more than happy to provide you with a statement. The turn around time can take anywhere from 1-30 days - depending on the information requested.

Cheers,

Jeremy
