Would love if you introduced new Data AddOn Packages at increased price points.

For example:

$120 for 12GB AddOn

$60 for 4GB AddOn

and maintain the

$30 for 1GB AddOn.

This would motivate AddOn users to higher price points and drive up ARPU - which as we all know is the name in the telecom game lol.

I wouldn't use them, most likely, but I like the idea for sure.

I wouldn't use it. the whole point of public mobile is providing good services at a lower cost. I think thi is accomplished with no call centres and store fronts. If you start seeing costs and rates go up then you will also start seeing customers walking out of the front door.

@mjs these are actually lower cost.  @pakmode is proposing to keep the current plan, which costs $30/GB.  He's proposing to add 4GB at a cost of $15/GB, and 12GB at a cost of $10/GB.  These would be options, that you woudln't have to buy if you didn't want to, so it would not be increasing costs or rates.  There would be zero reason for you to leave a result of these proposed changes, as far as I can see.

ohhhh...I see. Thank you for clarifying 🙂

@srlawren nailed it. These are Data Add-ons. Not base plans.

I find $30 for 1GB to be high, and would gladly purchase more data at higher price points as an Add On.
I'm sure there are other users out there who feel the same.

$120 for 12GB
Or $60 for 4GB would push users like myself to spend more and buy additional Add On data.

Bell, who I just left for PM, charges $10 for every GB that you go over your allotted data package... PM is charging 3 times that, which I do feel is out of sync with ... well pretty much everything!

I get it, they're going for self sufficient clients that don't need a lot of tech support (or if they do they're using the Community for it) but $30 per GB vs $10 is too rich.

$20/GB would be more reasonable given the business model IMHO

@DL, Bell is charging that fee when you go over your limit.

Public Monile offers you a choice to get more data for $30 or wait for plan renewal to get your base again.

PM is fully prepaid.  If you want something, pay for it.  If you don't want something, don't pick it.

PM halts your data if you reach your cap, which the other providers seem to not do freely.

sure $30 is expensive, but I run through my already paid for data, and I need the data in an emergency, I might consider it.... or look for an open WIFI.

@DL Exactly.  Wish they had cheaper add on options. I'm going to blow through my 12GB at around the 10 week mark and $30 for each additional GB is wayyy too much.

@pakmode if you're going through approximately 1.25 GB per week, then Public Mobile was probably a poor choice.  You should probably consider porting out to anothe carrier with a larger monthly data allotment, as the add-ons are ridiculously expensive (as noted).
