Distinguish between badges earned and not earned in profile

My profile says I have two badges earned. However when I try to look at them it shows me all possible badges and how many people have earned them. If I didn't have so few I wouldn't know which ones I already have and which are yet to be earned!

Only the earned badges should be in colour and the rest should be greyed out, like in many games.

Very odd as my badges section shows, you earned 21 badges and only shows what i earned.

Ohh I've got it now, the badges I've earned show the date underneath them, and the rest just show how many people have earned them. I missed that the first time.

They should allow you to choose what badges to show on your profile, since this is currently all automatic.

Not sure I understand this but you can see badges you have not earned in your profile?

I've never seen that before

If you want to see an odd bug, click on any of the badges you have earned

I think this suggestion would certainly make it clearer.  I have earned 12 badges but 20 show in my list.  You have to look at the very small print below each badge to see if there is a date.  The badges you haven't earned yet have no date.

they used to be grayed out (I think) before the website was updated. 

AFter the update they removed any I couldnt get (a month reward where I just started) ... Cannot see any badges that I havent got as I got them all a while ago.

@Chaos_Scorpio I've been on Public quite some time and never saw a grey badge (with the exception of the one error badge I had on my old account; TLDR my theory was I earned that badge while account suspended so not entitled to rewards)

The May 4th badges and 1 year anniversary badges and all others never show up on any accounts I ever saw unless earned

And when my account was inactive I can see it just skips badges
