As discussed in other threats as they are currently thinking of increasing the bricks and mortar presence by going into Walmart alone people or not overly happy about it. Increasing to that many retailers and purchase options will vastly over complicate Public Mobiles operations and sales systems. If they sell other things besides sim cards through retail they will have to give a percentage to the store and increase their staff to deal with the more complex sales system. With the amount currently online, they can automate most of it and have the cash not be shared with a retailer and come in sooner.
But they should decrease the price and bring back cheaper options, so we are not paying an arm and a leg. Bring back the 1GB or 90 days, bring back the 10 option, as well as bring back the North America/Canada wide texting and start offering longer term/plans if that includes 120 or 150.
Increasing the current discounts/rewards of loyalty, autopay, refer a friend and help the community would also help.
Overall they should either decrease the price of the plans or increase service since the price difference is no longer significant enough. With the decrease the cost makes more sense due to Public Mobile original market position, relationship with parent Telus and sister organization Koodo and comparison to the competition.
I think PM should NOT have done that 3G Nonsense, I think that may create some resentment, some Double-Standard that SOME PPL might NOT 100% be able to fully Forgive PM for
The whole 3G vs 4G nonsense does not matter how much they tell us was because the updated a bandwidth or something, we the customers are able to see that they are now charging the same price or more for 3G for what we could get 4G for. We do not want to pay the same or more for less. The idea is that we pay less for less. When they brought in the 3G option it should have been for a lower price.
If PM's pricing had stayed the same, I'm not sure anyone would be asking about special pricing for groups.
I personally believe that special pricing is a form of discrimination. Sure, we all feel sorry for students but then again, the previous pricing was a steep discount from the big 3. I'm not sure why someone should get a discount just because they're a nurse, teacher, union member, or professional association member. What about everyone else?
Straight forward, low cost, no frills service is why most of us picked PM.
